Quick Summary

Year 1 students found making their own movie trailer of the classic fairytale; “Jack and The Beanstalk” an inspiring way to explore storytelling. All done using StarTime’s My School Studio green screen and mobile technology.

Learning Outcomes

  • Students embody the story by creating characters through rehearsing and performance.
  • Students describe and demonstrate what an “eyeline” is and how to use it effectively for presenting and performing to camera.
  • Students identify the basic elements needed for quality filmmaking – sound, camera and lighting.
  • Students identify what a green screen is and how can be used in filmmaking.
  • Students understand the process of making a film from script to screen.
  • Students work collaboratively, being responsible for different roles that contribute to the successful production of a film.
