Workshop Framework / Syllabus

Below is the StarTime framework for all our coaches to follow. StarTime has developed this over years of experience running thousands of workshops. It is a structure to enable the Coaches to confidently keep the student’s young minds and bodies engaged and keep on track with your syllabus objectives. The syllabus will sit inside the framework and together provide participants with a unique StarTime experience. Please study this closely and carry out its directives.

HOW

  • Make the space safe and energised
  • Set up space ready for the workshop tasks
  • Set up Registration Table & signage

WHO

  • Head Coach to set up and and additional coaches to assist as they arrive.

WHY

It is vital to shape the space ready for the students to arrive – giving that sense of “world class.” Research confirms that environment and how it is set, affects behaviour. We want a safe, fun, creative and focussed environment.

HOW / WHO

  • All students must be signed in on the roll, given name tag.
  • Where there are 2 Coaches – split roles and responsibilities. AC to man the desk welcoming students and parents as they sign in, HC to manage set up and engage kids, attend to parent enquiries etc. Additional Coaches to engage children in pre-workshop activities

WHY

First impressions count. Engaging the students and parents will start the workshop on the right foot. We bring joy, so its important welcome them warmly, smiling and making them feel important.

HOW / WHO

  • Welcome students to StarTime & get them excited about the program
  • Introduce yourself and your fellow coaches – with older kids you might like to tell them about your background and what you love about Drama
  • Talking them through the StarTime Values, rules and expectations

WHY

  • Set the standard high EARLY ON in terms of behaviour and boundaries. When introducing consequences ensure they are in line with values and ensure you are prepared to carry them out.
