Incident Reporting & Discipline
Clear communication between parents, coaches and StarTime Management is key. If there is an accident, please fill out an Incident Form and discuss the event with the parent and send a copy of the report to StarTime management.
If ever, at any stage there is an incident that causes concern, no matter how minor it may seem at the time, please bring it to the attention of StarTime Management. It is important to nip any issues in the bud at the first available opportunity before the situation can potentially escalate further. This is important for the safety of all children and coaches.
StarTime stresses the importance of safe behaviour and respectful conduct in all classes.
StarTime’s implements a ‘Black Mark’ policy, whereby if an individual student receives 3 black marks against their name on the StarChart, a dialogue should happen with the parent and StarTime Management as to whether the child should continue the class. This is to be used as a last resort, after all other strategies have been exhausted.
It is up to the coach to lay clear rules and boundaries and ensure that all students are of equal understanding of the expectations of acceptable behaviour. It is also the responsibility to manage poor behaviour from the onset, to prevent the escalation of any potential negative situations.
As much as StarTime works to create warm, nurturing and safe environments, if student conduct is disrespectful and disturbs the positive class environment, this will not be tolerated.
