Workshop: Ninja Warrior

Length of workshop: 2 hours

Overview: This action-packed training program teaches Stealth, Strength and Balance; bringing out your child’s inner ‘Ninja Warrior’.

This action-packed training program teaches Stealth, Strength and Balance, bringing out your child’s inner ‘Ninja Warrior’.

This class will get your child working to their athletic capabilities, using similar exercises that you would find on your favourite television show. We focus on building strength, cardio endurance, confidence and athletic skills, for your child to become a true ‘Ninja Warrior’

Participants will:

  • Learn basic exercises for stretching and building strength
  • Practice their balance, strength and flexibility
  • Practice exercising synergy between body and mind

Session 1

Warm Up

WHAT: Warm-up

DEMONSTRATION

  1. Hosts will take kids through warm-up stretches and movements to get their muscles warm and ready to work.
  2. They will also take the kids through the core elements of being a ninja – strength, balance and stealth.

HOW:

  • Start by increasing students’ cardio with a game of Bullrush or running or jumping exercises
  • lead into stretches for the head, arms, legs and feet.
  • Strength – push ups, sit-ups
  • Balance – stand on one leg, walk along a tape balance beam

WHAT’S HAPPENING

  • Learn basic exercises for stretching and building strength
  • Practice their balance, strength and flexibility
  • Practice exercising synergy between body and mind
  • Water Bottles
  • Hats
  • Sunscreen

Head Coach:

  • Run warm up

Coach:

  • Join in and help keep the kids engaged. Look out for nervous students who may be a little bit out of their comfort zone.
Solider Star Squat 

WHAT: Game Time

DEMONSTRATION

1) Hosts will take kids through a game of Solider, Star & Squat.

WHAT’S HAPPENING

  • Learn basic exercises for stretching and building strength
  • Practice their balance, strength and flexibility
  • Practice exercising synergy between body and mind
  • Water Bottles
  • Hats
  • Sunscreen

Solider Star Squat 

WHAT: Game Time

DEMONSTRATION

1) Hosts will take kids through how to play crab tag and encourage them to play it with their coaches at the center.

  • Practice exercising synergy between body and mind

Session 2

Obstacle Construction

WHAT: Students will design and create egg crash containers using the materials provided and see how high
they can drop their egg from without it cracking open

DEMONSTRATION

1. Coaches to construct a few safe obstacle courses for the kids to navigate using cones and other supplies.

2. Students create their own obstacle courses in pairs or small groups

3. Students rotate around and trial each obstacle course

4. Challenge time // Time each student as they attempts each obstacle. The fastest student to complete each obstacle course is awarded a star!

 

This will vary depending on the venue.
