Making Musical Instruments

An interactive workshop from the comfort of your own home!

Overview:  With household items you can create almost any noise. And any noise can be made into music. We’ll show you how to make music with jars and water with the classic water Xylophone. The tin can drum and and the shoebox guitar. Once you have made your instrument/s, you can then take them into our next session DJ-ing and music producing to create beats and loops with.

For Ages: 5-12 years

Water Xylophone:
5 glass jars of glasses with water
food colouring (optional)

Tin can drums:
Clean and empty tin can
Large balloons x 4 Stick / pencil with Blu tack

ShoeBox guitar:
Cardboard shoe box or tissue box
4 x large rubber bands
2 pencils
Scissors
Glue
Cardboard Roll (optional)
