Filmmaking in a future focussed classroom
This is an interactive, hands-on program. Teachers will collaborate through a number of filmmaking tasks, both in front and behind the camera. From writing, rehearsing to crewing, editing, watching and reviewing, in our mini-movie festival at the end of the workshop.
Understanding how to integrate filmmaking across all areas of the curriculum to enhance your teaching, while taking away practical tools for the classroom, is the aim of this program. For those already applying technological strategies in the classroom, this course will enhance and develop your skills to the next level.

Note: this workshop can be completed within 1 day (9am – 3pm) or run over two afternoons, after school (3.30-6.00pm)
A Teacher’s Pack will be emailed to participants prior to the commencement of the workshop.
This workshop requires a central space, such as a school hall or adjoining classrooms. Teachers will be asked to breakout into groups of 3-5 for certain tasks.
We need either a working monitor or an interactive white board with sound facility to play videos. The StarTime workshop facilitator will bring an Apple TV and network with connections (an internet connection is preferable but not essential)
StarTime provides all necessary filmmaking equipment, but teachers are welcome to bring their own iPads.
There is also the option for schools to purchase a studio package which includes professional development for up to 20 teachers. To learn more click here.
Why StarTime? We are firm believers in the power of filmmaking to develop essential life skills for your students. Skills in collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking.
We have designed this workshop for you to have “take-away-tools” that will help you implement green screen and filmmaking in your classrooms on a term, monthly, weekly, or daily basis. It’s a hands-on deep dive into filmmaking and green screening. Giving you the understanding of how to guide your student’s process in what is a natural and engaging way for them to use technology to improve their learning.
