Building Battles with Minecraft

Are you awed by towering skyscrapers? Majestic castles? Riveting roller coasters? When it comes to building in Minecraft the possibilities are endless! Learn about unique constructions and the basics of building before putting your imagination and Minecraft expertise to the test designing your own dream dwelling!

This incursion will cater for all skill levels from Masters of Minecraft to the newest of novice builders!

Each student will be given the opportunity to explore Minecraft as a creative building tool; affording them a greater understanding of the basic concepts of both architecture and interior design through an exciting virtual format that they adore.

Throughout the session kids will work in small teams with their peers to build a unique and awesome construction of their own unique design; cementing critical creative skills of collaboration and innovative thinking.

Outcomes

Participants will:

• Understand and apply the basic concepts of building and interior design
• Learn to utilise Minecraft as a virtual creative tool to generate imaginative designs of their own unique creation.
• Learn how to harness and apply their creativity in a team-based mini-project
• Communicate and combine different ideas within a team in order to produce a mutually agreed outcome
• Apply effective collaboration and team-based time-management skills working together to finish their construction by the end of the session Minecraft to create a Minecraft news story
