Ever wondered how a film can scare you right of your seat?! If you love films and you love telling stories via film, then this workshop teaches you HOW.

Making scary films uses all the techniques you need to make ALL sorts of films – suspense, action and emotion. Our professional filmmakers will show you techniques in; How to use camera movement, angles and framing, music and sound effects, as well as lighting and performance to manipulate, shock and scare your audience right out of their seats! In this workshop, we use iPads, and microphones with iMovie to create your group’s film over the course of the workshop.

Our drama workshops build confidence and ensure your child shines in a team environment. We provide a dynamic program, delivered by experienced, professional performers passionate about teaching children and young people.What You’ll Learn• Improvisation: learning and solidifying the basics of “making stuff up” on the spot. Thinking on your feet, outside the box, releasing fear, connecting to instinct. through theatre games and exercises.
Vocal: breathing exercises Finding your big voice, exploring your range, articulation games to improve vocal confidence, clarity and dexterity.
Physical Expression: Releasing fear to explore your full imaginative physical range to create characters of all types, sizes and shapes.

Term 1 & 3: parents are invited to an open class when the students will display some of the skills and exercise learned during the term.
Term 2 & 4: includes a show at the end of term for family and friends to enjoy, observe and celebrate the skills and personal growth each student has achieved over the term.

Essential skills to “help them shine” in today’s connected worldTerms & Conditions By attending a StarTime workshop you agree to the full Terms & Conditions as laid out below, which are included in the workshop information pack, emailed upon enrolment.Please note, enrolments in StarTime courses are not confirmed until full payment has been received and processed. An email confirmation and information pack are emailed upon enrolment. Refunds will only be considered if cancellation occurs before the beginning of the relevant StarTime Workshop.

A minimum of ONE WEEK notice must be given to StarTime, prior to the commencement of the workshop. All refunds incur a $20 administration fee.

Once the workshop has commenced, or notice of less than 48 hours – refunds will not be given, unless a medical certificate can be provided to StarTime to prove extenuating circumstances. A medical certificate must be presented within a fortnight of requesting a refund for the term workshop in question.

As an alternative and last resort, the refund amount can be used as a credit towards another StarTime workshop (12mth expiry from date of purchase).

StarTime Studios reserves the right to cancel a workshop for reasons beyond our control. If this happens, all fees will be fully refunded or transferred to another course.[/x_accordion_item][x_accordion_item title=”Health and Safety” open=”false”]All participants must follow safety instructions as StarTime does not accept liability for personal injury. StarTime Studios reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone who poses a disciplinary problem to our coaches and staff.

Parents/Guardians must arrange for those in their charge to be dropped off and picked up from the appropriate venues and at the appropriate times agreed upon when enrolling as we cannot accept responsibility for students before or after the StarTime activities in which they are enrolled. Parents/Guardians are also required to sign in their child on arrival and sign out their child before leaving the workshop.

Parents/Guardians must ensure they supply up-to-date contact information for themselves and in case of an emergency. StarTime Studios does not accept responsibility for personal property left at the venues we use. Our StarTime Coaches are instructed to leave all lost property at the workshop location and in the hands of Venue Management.Any personal information will be stored in accordance with our Privacy Policy. StarTime Coaches are all professional Actors and Performance Artists and therefore, and only as a last resort, we must reserve the right to make last minute substitutions of coaches and course material. StarTime Studios reserves the right to make photographic and/or visual/audios recordings of our workshops and participants for inclusion in our archives for use as training and marketing materials. We will always make you aware of the fact we are filming and if you would prefer this material not be used by StarTime, please let us know
