Spotlight On StarTime And REELiSE

StarTime had an amazing time partnering with REELiSE to provide cyber safety filmmaking incursions that teach children about cyber safety and other issues they care about within a fun, interactive framework of storyboarding and filmmaking.
StarTime has been a sponsor of the REELise Film Festival since 2018. We enjoy giving children and young people their moment to shine and build confidence, to help them find their voice and teach them storytelling skills, so they can produce meaningful video content that will not only engage an audience but leave a lasting impact.

Please pack a lunch for your child/children. Children will have a 1-hour lunch break to eat and play. If you would prefer, you are welcome to take your child out for lunch between 12:30pm and 1:30pm instead.

Please also pack a water bottle, morning, afternoon tea, and any medications required on the day (named and labelled with instructions).

Please do not pack items containing nuts or food that require heating or refrigeration.

If your child has an allergy, you will be required to submit a medical form when registering.
Parents / guardians must arrange for the children to be dropped off and picked up from the venue at the designated times.

If for any reason there will be a delay in picking up your child, please contact the program facilitator as soon as possible on 1300 463 513.

Please make sure you have added details of anyone who may be picking up your child other than yourself under ‘Additional Information’ in the online registration form.
You are welcome to pick them up when you like, however you will need to sign them out each time and advise one of the workshop supervisors on the day.
It is at least a ratio of 1:10 children per educator. There are at least two educators onsite.
Children may be divided into their age groups. We do however accomodate siblings or friends who would like to stay in the same group.
We follow the guidelines of the Office of the Children’s Guardian, whereby in the interest of child protection, we cannot have adults in the room without a verified and current Working with Children Check.

All children have the right to have a fun-filled and engaging day, and whilst we understand that children will be children, we do not accept bullying, aggressive and non-cooperative behavior. If the organisers feel that the safety and interest of the other children is jeopardized because of this behavior, your child will be given three verbal warnings and you will be contacted on the third warning. If the situation persists after this point, you will be asked to pick your child up. Whilst waiting to be picked up, they will not be able to participate in the workshop.

It is best for your child to wear comfortable clothes and closed shoes. Please note that some workshops can get ‘messy’.

Anything which is left behind by children will be left at the venue. Our StarTime coaches are instructed not to take any lost property with them.

Upon registering please disclose any medical / behavioural conditions, that we need to be aware of in the ‘Additional information’ field. This will ensure that we have the appropriate staff to safely manage all the children in our care. If in doubt, please disclose, and we will contact you for further information.

Appropriate safety precautions and instructions are provided at the start of the program. All care is taken to ensure that the children are in a safe and secure environment.

Parents / Guardians are required to sign-in their child upon arrival, and sign out before leaving the workshop, including if you take your child out for lunch.

If your child gets sick during the day, our program staff will call you to pick them up.

Parents / Guardians must provide up-to-date emergency contact information, and the named emergency contact must be available to pick up the child at short notice.

We take anaphylaxis seriously. Any child that requires an EpiPen must bring theirs on the day, in association with the ASCIA Guidelines. This is so that in the event of an emergency we have the correct and required dose to hand. Please give the EpiPen to one of our staff on morning sign-in and ensure that all information of the allergic condition was recorded on registration.

During an emergency, it is the responsibility of the facilitators to ensure all children are safely evacuated from the building.

By attending a StarTime workshop you agree to our full Terms & Conditions, to view click here.
If you need to cancel your child out of a workshop, please email [email protected] so we can notify families on our waitlist. Please include your child’s full name and date of workshop in your cancellation email.

Please note, cancellations received within 48 hours of a workshop starting will not receive a refund.

This is the third time I've taken advantage of the Macquarie Plus School Holiday Program, but it's the first time my two kids have ever wanted to cut our lunch break short so they could return to the program

I received great feedback from the parents, saying that the kids are asking when they can come back. The coaches were very polite and reliable; they made those two days super special for the kids.
